Your Story in the Stars: Wynn Publishing Company, Carnegie Hall, 881 Seventh Avenue, New York City n.d. / 1934 £85 A custom sammelband of two scarce large-format paperback works by Wynn, which would probably originally have been sold on magazine stands. ‘Your Future’ undated in print but believed from internal evidence to date to June 1930 or June 1931. ‘Your Story in the Stars’ dated 1934 in print. Both have been bound in without their original soft covers. [pp. 3-98] + [pp. 3-80]. Custom large-format half black cloth with red cloth-covered boards. Gilt titling to both front board and spine. Binding in vgc+ condition, with minimal rubbing to extremities and light bumping to lower outer corners of boards. The original owner has pasted the table of contents from ‘Your Story in the Stars’ down the right-hand column of the table of contents for ‘Your Future’. Main contents of both books complete, although binder’s trim has shaved page numbers and the tails of letters on the bottom lines of pp. 4 and 24 only, without detriment to clear reading, from the bottom edge of ‘Your Future’. Plain-pencilled glyphs and date added to diagram on p. 33 of ‘Your Story in the Stars’. Faint plain-pencilled sums to margins of pp. 64-5 and p. 80 of same. No permanent markings found to either title. Creasing to lower outer corners of pp. 77-80 of ‘Your Story in the Stars, with one-inch edge-tear to leaf comprising pp. 79-80 of same, repaired with slightly browned clear tape to p. 80, crossing some text but without detriment to its clear reading; and separate smaller piece of browned clear tape to lower outer corner of p. 80, not reaching text. Externally near-fine; internally only good+, but both these books, which originally had large soft covers, are very scarce.
