Top-edge of page block dyed pale green, as issued. Original title label to spine intact. Internally, many previous owner’s marginal circular orange stickers. Also, red-inked marginal dots and lines to pp. 98-103; 164-7; 225-7; 244; 267; and others that have been subsequently covered over with orange stickers. Date underlined in red to p. 273; a few names partly underlined in red to pp. 302-5 and p. 361, and one added in margin of p. 302. Margins apart, the text is almost all unmarked. I spotted one year underlined in red ink to p. 273. Still an acceptable reading and study copy of the scarce first edition
