The Astrolearn bookshop is temporarily closed for 14 days Friday December 13th to Thursday December 26th inclusive. This is because of the unreliability of the Christmas post and very high volumes of writing and editing work over this period. Please check back on Friday December 27th, when the shop will reopen and this notice will be removed.

£60.00
Description
hb | Tucker, W. J. | Autobiography of an Astrologer | 1st | Pythagorean Publications | 1960 | £60 | Complete in [x] + 314 + [pp. 314-358] + ix + viii pp, with many additional unpaginated black-and-white photographs interleaved with text, as issued. The two page 314s are separate – this was a pagination error found in all copies. | Original full red cloth in vgc, with light wear to extremities of spine hinges and to cloth over lower outer corner of front board, and slight bumping to some outer corners; trace of dark-staining to lower outer corner of closed page block. Front inner paper hinge cracked, with upper part feeling slightly loose but binding holding overall. Very slight split visible to gutter between p. 358 and p. I of the index, but both parts separately well-bound. Vintage typed Church of Light address label to front paste-down. Frontispiece leaf with portrait of author detached from binding but laid in, and remains in generally very good condition, with minor edge-wear. Red accidental slip-of-a-pen mark to lower outer corner of p. 15, far from text. Black slip-of-a-pen marks to lower outer corner of p. 31, not reaching text. Small marginal slip-of-a-pen mark, possibly plain pencil, to p. 61. No other markings or faults found. Overall, a good+ copy, mostly very clean but with minor structural weaknesses and the portrait needing reattaching. |
