Lippincott Company, Philadelphia / London 1931 £175 After the original edition of 1923 and second of 1928 Original red full cloth in near-fine condition, with light wear to lower outer corner of rear board else fine. There is a slightly paler narrow vertical line to the cloth on the front board, which appears to be the result of natural variation stemming from how it was woven together before manufacturing. In vgc- original dj, which is chipped at top of spine (up to 2 cm) and has 2 cm tear to top of rear spine hinge and 7mm tears (one each) to bottom edge of rear panel and top edge of front panel, else only minor edge-wear and minimal chipping to tops of flap-folds. Internally near-fine. Ffep with vintage Simplex Publishing Co.. importer’s address label, and faint plain-pencilled price. No internal markings found to any printed page, and no faults found. An excellent copy of this rare early edition, in vgc- seldom-surviving dust jacket
