Ltd., 10 & 11 Red Lion Court n.d. £65 Library records give 1925 for original publication date, which is supported by the publisher’s address on this impression, suggesting it is the true first edition Original full maroon cloth in fine condition, with almost no fading of colour or rubbing (just a hint of both to very top of spine). Ffep with plain-pencilled bookseller note. Inked signature of original owner, dated May 1925, to upper margin of title page. Red-pencilled underlinings to pp. 19 and 85; red-pencilled marginal brackets (one each) to pp. 81, 84, 85, 86 and 88. No other permanent markings found. Plain-pencilled marks to pp. 15-18, 87-8, and occasionally elsewhere. Overall, a very good+ copy of the rare original edition: externally fine, internally decent although with some signs of use.
