A vgc antiquarian original, with moderate wear to extremities of spine and lower outer corners of boards; wear to upper outer corner of front board, and a little fraying to cloth along a 1.5 cm section of front hinge. Very slight bowing to boards. Some staining and spotting to rear board. Hinges intact. Old plain-pencilled bookseller note to ffep. Original owner’s old-fashioned hand-inked signature, dated 1911, to following blank, with a small version of the same to upper margin of the half-title page. Diagonal crease across upper outer margin of leaf comprising pp. 41-2, only visible on p. 41. Shorter crease across lower outer margin of p. 88. Pages beyond half-title page free from previous owner markings. No other faults found. Complete in 168 pages + original publisher’s 16-page catalogue of advertisements for other Rider books |
