hb Sepharial Prognostic Astronomy 1st L. N. Fowler, 7 Imperial Arcade, Ludgate Circus, E.C., London 1901 £105   Original full green cloth in vgc+ condition, with excellent deep green colour retained to the cloth boards and spine, which show almost no signs of staining or fading. Moderate rubbing to extremities of spine and outer corners of boards. Binding strong; front and rear inner paper hinges intact. 1mm separation down gutter before title page, but webbing strong. Title page and final page of advertisements browned from contact with acidic endpapers, as usual. Early ownership stamp and matching date stamp (Dec. 12, 1905) in red to ffep, showing this copy was in Seattle, Washington at that time. Ownership stamp repeated to upper margin of contents page. No other permanent markings or faults found. Plain-pencilled marginal bracketing and / or faint underlining found to a small number of pages within. Overall, an excellent copy of the rare and sought-after first edition of this early Sepharial book.
