Rider editions remain inherently more collectible than the David McKay editions published in the USA. Original full blue cloth in vgc+ condition for age, with light rubbing to extremities of spine and minimally to outer corners of boards. This copy is not sun-faded, with the cloth remaining deep blue to both boards and spine, and blind-stamped title to front board clear. Gilt titling to spine moderately faded. Plain-pencilled inventory number to ffep. This copy with contemporaneous W. Foulsham & Co. Ltd. address label adhered over the top of the original Rider imprint, whose underlying presence can be authenticated by holding the book up to the light, to title page. The binding is strong and the pages clean throughout. Externally vgc+; internally fine. A very pleasing copy of the second Rider edition.
