Ltd., 61 Fleet Street, E.C. 4, London 1920 £60 Publisher address dates this impression to between 1917 and 1921, which matches the printed date to the title page. All editions before 1931 are rare Original smallish-format cloth with orange blind-stamped patterned bordering to front board in vgc+ condition for age, with light wear to cloth at foot of spine else near-fine; blank old label wrapped around lower margin of spine crossing part of spine titling. Front paste-down with faint residue of former owner’s inked name. Front endpapers with old plain-pencilled bookseller prices. Ffep and margin of title page both bear a small faint stamp in an oriental alphabet, possibly Chinese. A few faint plain-pencilled marginalia to pp. 76-8 and p. 99, but text generally very clean and free from permanent markings. Overall, an excellent copy of this relatively early impression
