hb Pharos Successful Marriage 1st Richard Arlington Ltd., 210-11 Piccadilly W.1, London n.d. £35 x + 218 pages. An early Sun sign synastry guide, predating Linda Goodman’s Love Signs by four decades. The British Library records 1937 as the date of publication of this book, which is always undated in print Original full blue cloth in fair condition, with marked wear to cloth at extremities of spine and over outer corners of boards; heavy rubbing down spine hinges, including some splits in cloth; and 2 cm cross-tear from rare hinge split over part of spine. Early owner’s inked presentation notice to ffep. Leaf comprising pp. 199-200 detached from binding but present. Pages peripherally browned, with occasional tears to bottom edges (4 leaves thus spotted, tears not reaching text). Internal binding very slightly strained in places. No internal markings found. A fair copy with one loose leaf. If buyer requests, I can rejoin the loose leaf with hinge repair tape – which is white, and will contrast somewhat with the browned paper. A rare book in any condition. Price factors in faults
