The Astrolearn bookshop is temporarily closed for 14 days Friday December 13th to Thursday December 26th inclusive. This is because of the unreliability of the Christmas post and very high volumes of writing and editing work over this period. Please check back on Friday December 27th, when the shop will reopen and this notice will be removed.
Nicholas DeVore – Encyclopedia of Astrology, Bonanza Books hb/dj, Copy 1
£45.00
Description
hb/dj | De Vore, Nicholas | Encyclopedia of Astrology | Early reprint | Bonanza Books, a Division of Crown Publishers, Inc. | n.d. | £45 | By arrangement with Philosophical Library, Inc., and retaining their imprint to title page and spine, as issued. Shows only the copyright date of the original 1947 edition within, although the Bonanza / Crown edition is later, probably from the mid-1960s based on the dust jacket advertising. | Original full blue cloth in near-fine condition. In vgc original bright blue pictorial dj, with 1 cm separation to top of rear spine hinge and some adjacent creasing to top of spine, and light wear to extremities of spine and of flap-folds. Ffep with a little paper residue from a removed label, and a plain-pencilled price. No other markings, and no internal faults found. Overall, a fine, clean, excellent copy of the second hardback edition of this essential reference work – second-best only to the rare, hard-to-find original printing, which seldom survives in such good condition as this one. Even the Bonanza edition is rare outside the USA. Price factors in my up-front import costs to get the best copies of this book to the UK. |
