The Astrolearn bookshop is temporarily closed for 14 days Friday December 13th to Thursday December 26th inclusive. This is because of the unreliability of the Christmas post and very high volumes of writing and editing work over this period. Please check back on Friday December 27th, when the shop will reopen and this notice will be removed.

£35.00
Description
pb | Eberwein, Mme | Astrology Applied to Practical and Modern Life | 1st | No publisher name printed | 1927 | £35 | Presumed the first edition of this very scarce work. Only one copy on Worldcat, at NYPL | Original card covers in vgc- condition for age, creased but whole, with a little light edge-wear to upper and outer parts of rear cover. Front cover with its original fine art illustration of woman walking beneath the planets, sun and stars still bright and clear. Neatly printed title label adhered to spine, presumed as issued. Internally, this copy is unfortunately incomplete, lacking pp. 79-106 and pp. 117-128. A textually defective but acceptable survival of this very rare and charming book, with all the plates and illustrations called for in a complete copy: the artistically embroidered turquoise-tinted portrait photo of the author among the Earth, the stars, the Moon and a ringed planet intact following p. 6, and five further coloured plates and diagrams to enjoy, in addition to the delightful cover art. |
