The Astrolearn bookshop is temporarily closed for 14 days Friday December 13th to Thursday December 26th inclusive. This is because of the unreliability of the Christmas post and very high volumes of writing and editing work over this period. Please check back on Friday December 27th, when the shop will reopen and this notice will be removed.

Max Heindel – Astrologische Bibliothek XIII: Die Botschaft der Sterne 1921, Copy 1

£35.00

Description

hb Heindel, Max; transl. von Sebottendorf, Rudolf Astrologische Bibliothek XIII: Die Botschaft der Sterne 1st Theosophisches Verlagshaus, Leipzig 1921 £35 382 pp + [2 pages of advertisements]. German translation of The Message of the Stars. Original black quarter-cloth with blue paper-covered boards. Cloth in vgc for age, with moderate wear to top of spine and light rubbing to foot; lettering print partly eroded from spine but blind-stamped lettering itself remains clear. Paper over boards looks clean and well-kept over front and rear boards. To front side, it is printed with partly gilt illustration and titling; illustration remains clear and titling mostly so, with just partial fading of last few letters. Wear to paper over all outer corners of boards, and slightly to underlying board at some corners. Internally, paper age-browned but clean. Inner paper hinge before p. 3 cracked down most of its length, but underlying webbing holding. Leaf comprising pp. 15-16 detached but present and otherwise undamaged. I would rather leave this repair to an expert, but if buyer requests, I could attempt to tip it back in with book glue. No permanent markings or other faults found. A potentially very good copy with just one leaf currently loose and needing gluing back in. This first German edition is rare in any condition
