Complete in 496pp + [14 pages of advertisements] Original cloth in vgc for age, with moderate rubbing to extremities of spine and outer corners of boards. Gilt titling to both front board and spine remains pleasingly strong and bright. Front inner paper hinge partly cracked, especially at top 3 cm.. Rear inner paper hinge also partly cracked, especially at top 3 cm and bottom cm. Both may benefit from future reinforcement with hinge tape. Ffep with former owner’s small blue-inked signature to top. No other markings found. Minor creasing across upper outer corners of pp. 177-180. Two short tears to outer edge of leaf comprising pp. 349-350 (far from text), but a near-very good copy of this desirable early edition
