Cloth remains a pleasing shade of green. Gilt titling to front board and spine intact. Originally green-dyed closed top-edge of page block slightly faded. Small mild stain to closed outer edge of page block. Remains of removed label to ffep, which also shows remains of tiny plain-pencilled number. Faint plain-pencilled marks to a small number of pages within (erasable). Tiny inner marginal statin to p. 229. Minor creasing to upper outer corner of leaf comprising pp. 289-290. No permanent previous owner markings or other faults found. A vgc+ copy of the rare first edition
