Greatly expanded from the sixth edition of 1927, which had only 179 main pages. The definitive edition of this book | Original full maroon textured cloth in vgc+ condition, with light rubbing to extremities of spine hinges, surface of rear spine hinge, and outer corners of boards; crease to lower outer margin of front board, else near-fine for age. Gilt and gilt-blocked titling to front board, and separate gilt illustration to same, still strong and bright; gilt titling to spine relatively faded but remains clear to read. Minor internal splitting to rear inner paper hinge, which remains generally strong. Rear paste-down with a couple of minor internal closed tears to its paper. This copy with interesting symmetrical red, green and black patterned art illustration pasted down to front paste-down, and a smaller one with more colours to rear paste-down. D. G. Nelson Astrological and Occult Books of Chicago sticker to blank part of title page. Minor trace of pale-red staining, as though by a former owner carelessly holding a red pencil, to part of outer margin of p. 203, but no deliberate internal markings to printed pages or other faults found. For its age, an excellent, well-conserved copy of this collectible cloth edition of one of Llewellyn George’s more important and useful titles. |
