This is the first impression thus. | Original full red cloth in fine condition, with no obvious wear, just light superficial vertical creasing to spine. Green gilt titling to spine strong and bright. In vgc+ glossy illustrated dj, with superficial 1 cm tear to foot of rear flap-fold, light wear to two other extremities of flap-folds, and some light edge-wear; Watkins Books sticker to rear panel; trace of residue from removed sticker to front flap. Ffep with plain-pencilled price and bookseller abbreviation. Inner paper hinge before title page lightly strained; it is structurally fine for now but may eventually need reinforcement. A few plain-pencilled ticks, crosses, arrows and lines to the outer margins of some pages, and rare plain-pencilled annotations. This was probably Geoffrey Dean’s copy; and they are likely to be his notes. No permanent internal markings or other faults found. |
