Heinz Specht – Astro-Digest 1987 AUTHOR’S PARTIAL STUDY COPY
£2.50
Description
comb-bound | Specht, Heinz | Astro-Digest: Personen- und Ereignisdaten für die astrologische Praxis, der Zeitscrift Meridian entnommen und durch den Herausgeber ergänzt [Erster Teil: Namen und Ereignisse] | 1st | Ebertin-Verlag, Freiburg im Breisgau | 1987 | £2.50 | 74pp. It is unclear whether this is a very early official impression of the first volume in what was originally projected as a multi-volume work or a custom-rebind of just the first part of the published work for study purposes | AUTHOR’S PROBABLE PARTIAL STUDY COPY. Original blue criss-cross-patterned textured card covers in good+ condition for age, with light edge-wear. Bound by green plastic comb threaded through 14 holes punched in inner margins. Comb structurally intact though doesn’t extend quite to top of spine. Three blue-inked words to inside of front cover. Internally, this copy has been heavily annotated throughout, with corrections to time-zone abbreviations, ticks, occasional underlinings, and other annotations and corrections, mostly in blue ink, although some ticks are in red pencil. There are also cross-references to birth data given for the same subjects by Lois Rodden where they differ from those printed, making this a valuable study reference copy for those researching birth times of famous individuals, although a well-used one. This is most probably (although I cannot prove it with 100% certainty) a personal copy held by the author, as the handwriting resembles his, and it was purchased as part of an auction lot from his estate. This could explain the extent of the annotations as he sought to correct or amend his own initially published findings later on. A few name headings have been highlighted in green. Buyer must be aware that this edition stops after p. 74. The low price of this copy reflects the fact that it is not the complete work as printed and that the primary interest lies in the annotations. |
