The first edition is distinguished from all reprints by its brown patterned cloth binding | Original small-format full brown patterned cloth in vgc for age, with light rubbing to extremities of spine, along rear spine hinge, and to outer corners of boards; small patch of discoloration towards upper outer corner of front board. Black titling to front board strong and bright. Plain-pencilled price to front blank. Faint plain-pencilled studious annotations to a few early pages, but no permanent markings. Binding slightly strained at inner paper hinge between pp. 32 and 33, but no other faults found. Overall, an excellent copy of the rare first edition |
