Fowler 1911 £100 134pp including advertisements from pp. 126-134. Dated 1911 in print to the title page, showing this to be the true first edition. Advertising at back also shows Alan Leo’s book ‘Esoteric Astrology’ as being only ‘in preparation’. It was first published in 1913. Original small-format deep green cloth in near-fine condition for age, with almost no visible wear; spine slightly sun-faded. Internally, no permanent markings found. Plain-pencilled number to front paste-down; plain-pencilled underlinings and marginal brackets to a fair number of pages, and plain-pencilled marginal annotations to a few, but inoffensive and could be erased. Lower outer corner of leaf comprising pp. 87-8 slightly chipped (far from text). Crease across lower outer margin of leaf comprising pp. 85-6, with traces to several leaves before it and after it. A few minimally dog-eared outer corners. No other faults found. Overall, still an excellent copy of the rare first edition. Plain-pencilled mark-up factored into price
