[Astrological Manuals No. V:] Directions and Directing 1st 9, Lyncroft Gardens, West Hampstead, N.W., London 1905 £75 [1] + [1 leaf] + [pp. vii-viii] + 72 + [pp. 73-4 of tables] + [pp. i-xxix pages of advertisements inc. rear paste-down]. This first edition in purple cloth is rare. ASSOCIATION COPY. Original small-format purple cloth in vgc, with light wear to cloth over central part of top of spine, and sunning to spine, else near-fine, with only minor rubbing to other extremities. Front paste-down with armorial bookplate of Cornelius Verheyden de Lancey, M.D. of the Middle Temple and Gray’s Inn. De Lancey (1889-1984) was a prominent dentist, surgeon and barrister born in the Netherlands, who settled in London. Trace of dark-staining to lower outer margin iof p. 35, else internally near-fine, with no previous owner markings found to any page.
