All editions before the Weiser printing of 1986 are now very scarce. Original smallish plain card covers with green title design to front cover and spine. Covers in very good+, almost entirely uncreased condition; light rubbing to parts of spine hinges. Ffep with plain-pencilled price to upper outer margin. Heavy crossings out and a few minor annotations to pp. 8-9 in a kind of translucent red felt-tipped pen or similar, allowing the text still to be clear to read beneath. Evidently a past owner disagreed with Lewi’s views on the sign Aries! Slightly weak print to a few words on p. 17, but they remain legible. Small red-inked X to inner margin of p. 84; tiny c. 2mm black ink stain between two words to p. 85. One line of text underlined in red to p. 91. Externally vgc+; internally only good thanks to the markings to pp. 8-9 in particular, although most other pages are clean; overall, a good+ copy of this rare early edition. Price factors in faults.
