2 pb set in slipcase Barrett, Gloria Astrological Physiognomy: A Key to the Ascending Sign and Decanate 1st The Aries Press, Chicago, Ill., 1941 £225 Complete set, comprising book and separate folder of 24 plates of physiognomic illustrations and instructive tables in original slipcase. This copy of the book, with rare bound-in professionally printed errata sheet following copyright page Book: Original blue-green card covers in near-fine condition, with only very light wear to edges of spine and slight traces of creasing to extreme lower inner and outer corners. Internally also near-fine. Plain-pencilled inventory number to upper margin of half-title page; a very few dog-eared upper outer corners, but no permanent markings or other faults found. Folder of plates in near-fine condition. Set of 24 plates complete, with just occasional minor edge-wear to occasional cards, but no markings or other faults. Slipcase in vgc- condition, with scattered staining, and wear to cloth at extremities of spine, heavier at foot of spine, and moderately around corners of opening, but retains its original printed title label, but the board structure remains sound except for some wear to the foot of the spine. The slipcase rarely survives at all. A rare collector’s item in this state of completeness.
