Rear inner paper hinge cracked for parts of its length only, with the rest still intact. D. G. Nelson stamp to rear f.e.p.. Plain-pencilled astrological annotations to endpapers. Corrected dog-ears to upper outer corners of several leaves. Slight red pencil stain to inner margin of p. 53. Occasional outcrops of foxing. 3mm closed tear to outer edge of leaf comprising pp. 153-4. Inked marginal bracketing around a paragraph to p. 169. Plain-pencilled marginal sum to p. 177, and occasional other minor plain-pencilled marginalia. Overall, a good+ copy of the rare first edition.
