Gilt titling to front board still reasonably strong and very clear. Gilt from gilt-blocked titling to spine peripherally slightly faded, but strong where the (ink-printed) titles sit upon it. Internally, separation to top 3 cm of front inner paper hinge, but remainder intact. Two former owners’ stamps to ffep (one of them an interesting-sounding old naturopathic business), repeated to title page, verso of final page, and verso of rfep. Former owner’s red-inked underlining to pp. 39, 48, 50, 115, 132-4, 138-141, 145, 147, 157-9, 165 and 169-175; red-pencilled underlining to pp. 43, 45-6, 51-2, 142-163, 174 and 177; red-inked marginal bracketing to pp. 50, 107, 132, 169, 174, 177 and 220; red-pencilled marginal bracketing to pp. 48, 50-1 and 163; red-inked marginal note to p. 44; blue-inked underlining and / or marginal bracketing to pp. 81, 114 and 170; blue-inked annotations to p. 172; blue-pencilled underlining and / or marginal bracketing to pp. 72-4, 76-7, 79, 81-2, 138-141, 170, and 174-8.
