Description
hb | Mott, Francis J. | The Meaning of the Zodiac: An Ancient Idea Reviewed in the Light of a Universal Pattern | 1st | A. A. Beauchamp, Publisher, 603 Boylston Street, Boston, Mass. | 1941 | £50 | Original blue cloth in good condition, with moderate rubbing to extremities of spine, light rubbing along spine hinges and to parts of bottom edges; cloth worn away from lower outer corners of boards; some discoloration to spine, and a moderate forward lean to spine. Gilt titling to front board remains strong and bright. Title page with address label of another publisher in Washington, D.C. adhered above the original printed one, and a John M. Watkins of London address label over the top of the original printed one. Turquoise Astrological Association stamp to upper margin of copyright page (I purchased this copy from an earlier library sale of theirs several years ago). No markings or faults found to any printed page beyond copyright page. Rear fep with inked library classification lettering and date stamp, and remains of mostly erased plain-pencilled note. Overall, a good+ ex-library copy of this rare book, internally very good except for library stamp. |
