Black titling to front board and spine still strong. Original owner’s plain-pencilled note to ffep, dated October 11th, 1931. Frontispiece plate of author in fine condition. Outer edge of page block rough-cut, as issued. No permanent markings or other faults found. An excellent copy of the true first edition, not to be confused with the various book club reprints
