The advertisements include only volumes from the series up to No. 46, strongly suggesting, in combination with the sepia plates, that this is the true first printing Original orange card covers in near-fine condition, professionally laminated in a clear plastic film. Tiny hand-marked price in red ink to upper inner corner of inside of front cover. Old liquid stain to upper outer margins of pp. 1-12 only, not touching text. Another to lower inner margins of early pages, gradually diminishing and disappearing after p. 46. Minor corrected dog-ear to upper outer corner of leaf comprising pp. 5-6, but no other markings or faults found. Price factors in the two peripheral stains.
