The Astrolearn bookshop is temporarily closed for 14 days Friday December 13th to Thursday December 26th inclusive. This is because of the unreliability of the Christmas post and very high volumes of writing and editing work over this period. Please check back on Friday December 27th, when the shop will reopen and this notice will be removed.

Cyril Fagan and Roy Firebrace – Primer of Sidereal Astrology 1971, Copy 2

£30.00

Description

pb Fagan, Cyril and Firebrace, Brigadier R. C. Moray Series No. 1: Primer of Sidereal Astrology 4th printing Littlejohn Publishing Co., Isabella, Missouri 1971 £30 Stated first U.S. edition, after the third printing of 1965 and previous, more primitive British editions. Complete in [vii] + 68 + [14 pages of charts] + [pp. 69-126] + 21 pp. This is a variant binding issue, with yellow card instead of the usual green, and glued cloth-tape as a spine instead of the usual comb binding, which may indicate that it is a slightly later issue, but it is internally identical to the first US edition of 1971. Original squarish-format yellow card covers in vgc for age, with 3mm tear to top edge of front cover, also slightly affecting top edge of front free endpapers; creasing and light wear to lower outer corner of front cover, moderate reading creases down inner margins of covers, a few small patches of scuffing to front cover, and minor traces of staining to covers. Former owner’s neatly blue-inked name to upper margin of second ffep. The book remains strongly bound and generally clean inside, but the internal condition is only good+ thanks to occasional yellow highlighting, which was spotted on just seven pages in the book: pp. 7, 71-2, 74-7, 109, 121. Additionally, the word ‘accidents’ has been added in blue ink to the upper margin of p. 77; and there is a plain-pencilled astrological note to the upper margin of one of the rear free endpapers. All early editions are rare and collectible.
