Cloth frayed at extremities of spine, and lightly worn at outer corners of boards. Gilt titling to front board strong and bright; to spine, it is rather faded. Former bookseller sticker to front paste-down. Plain-pencilled signature of Louise Jones (a suspected relative of Marc Edmund Jones) to ffep, together with plain-pencilled bookseller notes. Inner hinge between title page and facing frontis. portrait of the author is strained, but underlying webbing holding. Rear inner paper hinge cracked to upper and central areas, but lower part still holding. Would benefit from professional repair. Still a good original antiquarian copy overall. A rare book |
