Foreword dated 1934, which matches the publisher address: this was current from 1922 to 1939 Original blue cloth in vgc (very light rubbing to extremities of spine and tips of outer corners), with mostly peripheral colour-fading; front board very slightly sun-faded overall; spine moderately faded, but more deeply to a small circular area at its centre. Gilt titling to spine partially faded but still mostly clear. Small coloured pencil mark to front paste-down. Plain-pencilled bookseller notes to ffep. No other markings or faults found. A very clean copy of the first edition, though a little sunned on the outside.
