No further volumes appeared in this series Original card covers in vgc, with minimal wear to foot of rear spine hinge, slight creasing across upper outer corner of rear cover, and minimal creasing and wear to upper outer corner of front cover. Page-edges browned; paper slightly taut as though from thermal expansion and contraction, as is common with books of this age. Dog ears with associated very short tears to upper outer corners of leaves comprising pp. 129-132, far from text. Short (2-3mm) edge-tears to outer edges of leaves comprising pp. 135-8. Red-pencilled underlining and / or marginal bracketing to pp. 11, 14, 16, 20-1, 25-6, 36, 42, 49, 58, 231. Green-pencilled underlining and / or marginal bracketing to pp. 12-13, 26, 38, 44, 48. Clearly a well-studied copy, but still strongly bound and a pleasingly well-conserved example of the rare first edition
