N. Fowler & Co. 1914 £55 The only volume to appear in this series. Leo probably had more planned, but died before they could be implemented. Complete in [vi] + 78 pp. + [pp. ix-xxii of advertisements] Original small-format deep blue cloth in vgc for age, with moderate rubbing to cloth at very extremities of spine, some purplish discoloration to front board, and light edge-wear to boards. Plain-pencilled brief notes to front paste-down including the words ‘Bombay, India’. Printed price to title page struck through gently in plain pencil, with note indicating unclear correction to it; later plain-pencilled price to upper outer margin of title page. Mostly faint and minor plain-pencilled marginal marks and / or brief annotations to pp. 6, 12, 23, 32, 39. 43, 46, 57-9, 62-3, 66, and 70-77, all theoretically erasable. Further plain-pencilled notes to rear paste-down. No permanent internal markings or faults found. Overall, a very good copy of the rare first edition.
