hb Leo, Alan Mars: the War Lord 1st “Modern Astrology” Office / L. N. Fowler & Co. 1915 £40   Original pictorial paper-covered boards in good- condition overall. Boards are very good, and retain original imperial price sticker on serrated-edged circular orange paper, but fragile printed spine back-strip chipped at top cm and separated down whole of front hinge, with partial separation along rear hinge, which is still holding. The title label to the back-strip is intact, and it would be worth having it reglued by a bookbinding specialist before it detaches completely. Former owner’s plain-pencilled signature to front paste-down. Occasional plain-pencilled marginal bracketing within. No permanent markings or other faults found. A good copy of the rare original edition in its original binding, well worth conserving.
