Complete in [2] + [pp. v-ix] + [1] + [pp. 1-8 of plates] + [pp. xi-xii] + 296 + [4 pages of advertisements] | Original vertically ribbed full-green cloth in near-fine condition for age, with slight fraying to bottom 1 cm of rear spine hinge and to small parts of overhanging top few mm of cloth over spine; light wear to upper outer corners of boards; trace of indentation to spine just below main title, and very slight bowing to boards. Blind-stamped florally-decorated bordering to both boards (the original state of this edition – it was lost from later bindings), and gilt titling to both front board and spine, are in generally fine condition (‘N’ in ‘Alan’ to spine with minor partial loss of gilt; other characters all bright and complete). Page-edges toned, but pages within free from noticeable foxing. Plain-pencilled number to ffep. Old-fashioned red oval stamp of unclear meaning to blank area of title page.
