Robson, Vivian Alan Leo’s Dictionary of Astrology 1st thus, poss. later issue “Modern Astrology” Office, Imperial Buildings, Ludgate Circus, E.C.4, London 1929 £55 The first complete edition. The font to the spine on this copy suggests it may be a slightly later issue. Originally, only the first part, covering entries from A-G in the alphabet, was published in 1905. Alan Leo died before the rest was published, and Robson, with Bessie Leo’s permission, edited Leo’s manuscripts for the rest into shape to bring the book to posthumous publication in 1929. Original full green vertically ribbed cloth in vgc+ condition for age, with gilt titling to front board still strong and bright; to spine, still fairly strong. No obvious wear to binding; a little light staining to boards, else near-fine. Old plain-pencilled price to ffep. Internally near-fine: generally clean and bright, with very occasional mild traces of marginal staining or foxing, but no permanent previous owner markings found. For its age, an excellent copy
