About this Book Scan
NB: This scan file consists of a reproduction of a partial set of three of the six issues published this year only, in the absence of a full set of original printings being to hand as source material. This is reflected in the halved price as compared with complete years of six bimonthly issues.
Carefully scanned in full colour from the Astrological Association’s individual separate issue for January-February 1939 and our original printings of the individual separate issues for May-June 1939 and September-October 1939. All three issues featured are complete with original covers and some end advertising matter.
The six issues that the full set issued in the year 1939 comprised (although only three of them are featured here) were collectively dubbed Volume 36 of the New Series of Modern Astrology.
The year 1933 marked a move to a less demanding bimonthly schedule. This is reflected in our reduced asking price for all volumes from 1933 onwards as compared with the earlier whole-year monthly ones.
Modern Astrology magazine was launched in August 1895 by Alan Leo and ran as a monthly until well after his death in 1917 before eventually settling into bimonthly publication in the 1930s.
It provides a mine of insight into the astrological community surrounding Alan and Bessie Leo and their associates and successors.
