About this Book Scan
Rollo Ireton, editor of The Horoscope, was a pseudonym of Ralph Shirley. The substantial quarterly magazine The Horoscope followed on from the then fairly recently defunct Coming Events as a fresh attempt by Foulsham to publish an astrological magazine in the UK. In spite of the high quality of the contributions, it folded after just two years.
Our scan here is produced in full colour from our original printing of the bound whole-year volume for the complete first year of two. See also our separate listing for Volume 2.
After two years of editing The Horoscope, Shirley was poached by rival publishing company Rider to edit a more broad-based esoteric-interest magazine called The Occult Review, and The Horoscope ceased publishing, although it is not entirely clear which of these changes caused the other.
