About this Book Scan
Carefully scanned in full colour from our original printing of the complete bound compilation of the original subscription fascicles, as published in 1890.
W. H. Chaney was an American astrologer active from the 1860s to the 1910s. He studied under Luke Dennis Broughton in New York, but was imprisoned as a result of a scuffle with one of the opponents of Broughton’s practice. He was also reputedly the father of famed novelist Jack London.
Chaney’s Primer of Astrology and American Urania (1890) was his main astrological text-book and includes his distinctive opinions on a number of technical astrological topics. Originally issued on a paid subscription basis in eight monthly fascicles. The remaining unsold sets were then bound up and sold as books.
