About this Book Scan
Carefully scanned in full colour from our original printing of the first edition thus of 1897.
Practical Astrology (1897) was the definitive first edition thus and second overall edition of Alan Leo’s first book on astrology, and was a significant expansion of the original edition, which bore the different title of A Simple Method of Instruction of the Science of Astrology. Editions of Practical Astrology were published in both London and Boston, USA in the same year, reflecting the transatlantic interest in new astrology books written in English by that time. Our scan is of the British edition.
The earlier prototypical edition of 1896 is separately available from us as a download at reduced cost reflecting its more limited scope, and may be of interest to historians wanting to see how the book evolved. Please find it listed under its original title in our list of downloads.
