About this Book Scan
Carefully scanned in full colour from our original printing of the 1901 first edition.
Casting the Horoscope was Alan Leo’s technical manual of instruction in the construction and calculation of the natal horoscope and appeared as the immediate sequel to his book Astrology for All (1899). Written long before the invention of the pocket calculator, let alone the modern microcomputer, Casting the Horoscope served as an essential guide in its day to the methods of manual chart calculation for beginning students of astrology.
The first edition of 1901 is briefer in its contents than subsequent revisions but is historically important and is offered as a download here for its historical value in identifying the state of development of Leo’s text-book series at this very early stage.
For the greatly expanded second edition of 1904, also available as a download from Astrolearn, please see under the revised title of Astrology for All Part II.
