[1] From the 1876 edition, and presumed continuously until his death in April 1923 (thus, up to and including the edition for 1923, although this remains to be definitively established), this was in reality A. J. Pearce, who according to Kim Farnell’s research had succeeded Sparkes (Raphael VI) following the death of Sparkes in 1875 after the latter had edited just one edition of Zadkiel’s Almanac. The identity of the author of the editions from 1924 to 1931 is not yet known to me.
