[1] In this instance, peculiarly, the series title is omitted, but “Sonderdruck” is specified and the number is listed
[2] Library records give 1927
[3] Believed to date from 1929. It was reviewed in “Modern Astrology” magazine in August 1929
[4] 1929 or early 1930. It was reviewed in the issue of “Modern Astrology” magazine for February 1930
[5] The advertising at the end shows it to have been printed in 1953 or later
[6] Believed from library records to probably date from 1935
[7] After 1943, as shown by internal references in the text
[8] Believed from advertisements to be 1986 or 1985
[9] A compendium of natal chart analyses by the author for eleven poets, ten composers, and eight painters. All the subjects appear to be German, Austrian or Swiss
[10] Presumed 1937, when the 1938 Regulus-Kalender should have been published
[10a] After the original Macdonald edition of 1970
[11] Distributed by Gheminee, Brookhaven, MS
[12] Professor of History and Director of the Science Studies Program at the University of California, San Diego. He is said to have written earlier academic papers touching on this topic between 1975 and 1990, before devoting twenty years to the present volume between 1991 and its publication date.
[13] The typeface, binding format and advertising, however, clearly indicate the Llewellyn Publishing Co.
[14] Internal advertising for Llewellyn George’s “Powerful Planets”, marking it as a new release, date this printing to around 1924 when the aforementioned book was first published. However, see below for an earlier issue around 1920. The earliest issue of Weston’s pamphlet on the Fixed Stars that I’ve been able to verify to assuredly contextually verify to date is its appearance as issue No. 1 of his short-lived magazine “The Astrolite” (q. v.) in 1908. This said, in his introduction to the much-expanded 1937 edition of Weston’s work on the fixed stars (q. v. below), Llewellyn George claims that the first edition pamphlet was first published in 1906, i.e. two years before The Astrolite. It may therefore be that the first issue of The Astrolite was itself a reissue of the pamphlet first published then, though there are no library records on Worldcat for any such early edition – or even for the present one or that shown immediately below
[15] The typeface, binding format and advertising clearly indicate the Llewellyn Publishing Co.
[16] The internal advertising bound in with this copy indicates 1920 – there is an advertisement for the 1920 edition of the Moon’s Sign Book and one for the first edition of “Health and Attainment through Cosmic Vibrations”, which was published in 1920.
[17] The typeface, binding style and advertising matter indicate Llewellyn
[18] The second part of this work, “The Heliocentric Tables of Vulcan”, is dated 1920; but this copy was evidently bound up no earlier than the summer of 1928, because the inside of the rear cover carries a change of address notice to 8921 National Blvd., Palms, an address that became current starting with the July-September issue of the Astrological Bulletina. The internal advertising bears the older 1507 S. Ardmore Avenue address, but includes an advertisement for the first edition of Astro-Analysis, which was published in 1927. Taken together, this evidence clearly indicates that the present copy of Weston’s pamphlet was printed in 1927 or the first half of 1928, and bound in the second half of 1928 or slightly after. According to Worldcat records, there was an earlier edition of just 17 pages published in 1909
[19] A facsimile reprint, issued early 2000s, of the original edition, which was apparently self-published in Washington, D.C., 1921. Pages 5 and 6 appear to have been accidentally bound out of order in this copy, but no content is missing
