Neither date seems wholly credible in view of the first edition by Brandler-Pracht having appeared in 1910 and the edition by Rudolf von Sebottendorf, in the new series binding, appearing in 1921, besides which the new series binding began to be issued for other titles in 1919. A close examination of advertising in publications of the 1910s may be necessary to establish the true date, but Brandler-Pracht’s last original title in the series (Band VI) appeared in 1912, so Pöllner’s reworking of Band IV is suspected of most probably having been published in a year in the range of 1913-1918, with 1912 and 1919 being more remote possibilities. It seems possible in explanation of the German library records citing 1920 that Pöllner’s edition may have been subsequently reprinted in 1920 in the standard binding of the second edition of the overall series, i.e. half-cloth, before it was replaced by von Sebottendorf’s edition the following year
