Both sets of lessons on single-sided very long leaves of typescript, as issued. Collates complete. Pagination: [1] + 48 + [2] + 52 leaves. Both sets of original sheets have here been bound together in a loose folder with three metal pegs or studs through the upper margins and a hand-inked title label to the front cover of the folder. The binding partly or completely obscures the page numbers and running titles that were printed at the very tops of each sheet, but the text is all clear and easily accessible. Symbolical Astrology marks the very first publication of Jones’s interpretations of the Sabian Symbols, and the original printing as found here is the holy grail for enthusiasts of these symbolic degrees. Early blue folder matching the exceptionally tall size format of the printed sheets in good overall condition, with several internal tears to spine but without significant loss of material; some peripheral creasing and minor short edge-tears to covers. Divinatory Astrology: faint plain-pencilled dates added to upper margin of leaves 7, 9, 13, 17, but no faults found. Symbolical Astrology: tiny 3mm chip lost from lower outer corner of first leaf of index, far from text. Tiny plain pencil mark to lower margin of leaf 35. Two neat diagonal creases across lower outer margin of leaf 50, but no permanent markings or significant faults found. An excellent, complete and unblemished set of the original sheets, in good if well-worn folder that has protected them from damage.
