Subrahmanya Uttarakalamrita with an English Translation 3rd Sadhana Press, Bangalore [1967] £25 Third edition, revised and enlarged, preface dated 1st January 1967, after earlier editions of 1939 and 1951. This copy collates: [1] + xxvii + [2-panel fold-out frontis. chart] + 16 + [pp. 25-32] + [pp. 17-24] + [pp. 33-264] + [duplicates of pp. 257-264] + [pp. 273-328] + 39 INCOMPLETE COPY. Original brown quarter-cloth with paper-covered boards. Cloth in vgc with moderate rubbing to extremities of spine hinges and light rubbing to surface of spine hinges; boards slightly chipped at lower outer corners, with loss of paper covering in that area, and have a few small bumps to outer edges, but otherwise sound, with minor paper loss towards upper outer corner of rear board, mostly minor staining to small parts of boards, tiny dent towards lower margin of rear board, and plain-pencilled number to front board and letter ‘A’ to rear board. This copy was misbound by the printer, lacking pp. 265-272, and with leaves comprising pp. 257-264 instead duplicated. The missing pages will be provided either in a digital PDF scan or as a looseleaf printout to the buyer of this copy, from the master copy in the library. Within initial table of contents, successive leaves comprising pp. xxiii-xxvi are together but detached from the binding. Leaves comprising pp. 25-32 bound before instead of after leaves comprising pp. 17-24, but all present. No internal markings or other faults found. Sastri’s edition of this book is rare in all printings and any condition. Price factors in binding error and consequent four missing leaves.
