hb Sampson, Walter The Zodiac: A Life Epitome 1st The Blackfriars Press Ltd., London 1928 £65 Complete in 420 pages + 5-panel fold-out of diagrams, as issued Original full blue cloth with gilt titling to front board and spine and gilt zodiacal glyphs within blind-stamped circular diagram to front board. Near-fine for its age, with light rubbing to extremities of spine hinges and outer corners of boards, and tiny bump to bottom edge of front board. Gilt still strong and bright. Free endpapers slightly toned. Early owner’s signature, dated April 1936, in brown ink to ffep, which also bears two former plain-pencilled bookseller prices, the earlier of which has been struck through in pencil. No other internal markings or faults found. An excellent copy of the first edition
