hb Halbert, Frank Adverse Aspects of Astrology 1st The Aries Press, Chicago, Ill. 1940 £45 The book was available in both paperback and hardback editions, but the paperback is much more common Original full orange cloth in vgc for age, with light fraying to cloth at top of spine, and wear to cloth over outer corners of boards., especially lower outer corner of rear board. Front paste-down with charming vintage printed ex-libris address label of early owner with integral image of man looking into large microscope, and separate vintage Samuel Weiser address sticker. Ffep with old printed owner’s address sticker over the top of an address stamp, and separate date stamp below reading Dec. 1941. Plain-pencilled price to corner of ffep. Two short tears to top edge of title page, stopping a cm short of reaching the top line of print on either side of the leaf, with minimal traces of effects to three following leaves. A little plain-pencilled mark-up to p. 12, but no permanent internal markings or other faults found. This copy complete with rear free endpaper. Overall, a very good copy of the scarce cloth first edition, despite the slight tears to the top edge of the title page.
