Original full blue cloth in vgc+ condition, with light rubbing to extremities of spine hinges and lower outer corner of front board; gilt titling mostly faded from spine, else near-fine. Gilt titling to front board still bright and complete. Front paste-down with inked signature of former owner Robert Sidney Gass, and bearing his separate stamp, printed library information notice and hand-inked inventory number. Gass was chairman of the Laymen’s Fellowship Committee for the Swedenborgian church known as the General Convention of the New Jerusalem in the United States. He also served as an executive officer for the young men’s fellowship organisation Demolay, and received a Simon Greenleaf Medal from the Masonic Grand Lodge of Maine in May 1965. No markings found to any internal page. Internally a near-fine copy. Binding very slightly strained between pp. 128-9. No other faults found. |
