Ltd., 15 New Bridge Street, London EC4V 1973 £7.50 Reprinted 1973 from the revised edition of April 1972, which appears to be the fifth overall edition Original full blue cloth in vgc- condition, with moderate wear to extremities of rear spine hinge, and rubbing along parts of it; light wear to foot of spine; moderate wear to cloth over outer corners of front board; spine relatively sun-faded, although silver titling still clear. Small permanent marker mark to top edge of page block. Former institutional library label, stamped ‘withdrawn from library’, to front paste-down, together with adhesive residue from removed former pocket. Plain-pencilled price to ffep. Narrow adhesive residue stain to rear paste-down. Library stamp to lower margin of title page; another, hand-filled in blue-ink, to outer margin of copyright page. Traces of creasing to upper parts of occasional leaves, in a consistent pattern that suggests the paper was already creased before it was printed on and bound. Plain-pencilled marginal calculation to p. 146. Minor hand-inked corrections to p. 181. Plain-pencilled notes to corners of fold-out charts before p. 201. and after p. 222. Plain-pencilled date added to p. 227, and another to p. 228. Black ink stain to p. 238, crossing some text though it remains fully legible. 4mm tear to outer edge of leaf comprising pp. 283-4. No other faults found. Overall, a good ex-library copy, with the ink stain being its only significant internal fault.
